The Web content control lets you prevent other computer users from accessing inappropriate material on the Internet. This is achieved by applying filters (child filter, adolescent filter, employees filter, etc.).
You can apply a different filter to each of the computer users, or create new content filters adapted to your needs. In addition, it will also be possible to set a list of Web pages to which the users will (or will not) have access regardless of the filter that was applied to them.
The Web content control is based on the technologies of Cobion AG and Panda Security.
The Web content control operates as follows:
The user indicates the Web page which they want to access, and sends the address of this page (URL) to one of the central Cobion servers to determine the category (type of content).
In approximately 200 milliseconds, the central server responds with the category corresponding to the URL.
checks whether this category must be filtered, depending on the configuration established by the supervisor of the PC. If the category must be filtered, access to the Web page will be denied. When the computer is being used by the PC supervisor, no filter will be applied.
